About Chad
Chad loves working with first-time home buyers because it means helping people right at the start of an exciting new chapter. He's been a mortgage broker for a year, and before that he spent seven years as an insurance and investment advisor working closely with mortgage clients. That background means he looks at your whole financial picture, not just the mortgage. Chad helps clients across Nova Scotia and works with people virtually as well. For him, it matters to do work he enjoys and also believes is important. His approach is open and authentic, and he wants every client to feel valued and welcome from the first conversation to closing day. Outside work, Chad lives in Clayton Park with his wife and son. He's into fitness and golf, has coached basketball for more than a decade, and volunteers with a heritage real estate board.

Does it cost anything to work with a Team Active Mortgage broker?
For standard residential mortgages, brokers are typically paid by the lender when the mortgage funds, so there is usually no fee to you. Some files, such as private or certain alternative lending, can involve fees. Any fee is disclosed to you in writing before you commit.
What documents will I need?
Usually government-issued photo ID, proof of income (recent pay stubs and an employment letter, or two years of tax returns and Notices of Assessment if self-employed), proof of your down payment, and details of debts and assets. Your broker will confirm the exact list for your situation.
How does switching lenders at renewal work?
When your term ends you can move your remaining balance to a new lender instead of signing your current lender's renewal offer. You re-qualify with the new lender, and the switch is arranged to take effect at maturity. Start the conversation a few months before your renewal date.
