About Jason
Jason helps first-time buyers and homeowners who are renewing or refinancing, especially people who want their options explained clearly. He also works with self-employed borrowers and property investors. Jason has been licensed in the mortgage industry since 2023. Before that, he worked as a mechanical engineer in oil and gas, where he planned and ran a turnaround project worth more than $100 million. He brings the same analytical mindset and attention to detail to every mortgage file. Based in Sarnia, Jason works with clients in Sarnia, London, Chatham and the surrounding communities. He also works virtually with clients across Ontario, so consultations and paperwork are easy wherever you are. Jason wants mortgage decisions to feel easier to understand. He helps clients see the costs, flexibility and trade-offs behind each option, so they can choose financing that fits their life now and their plans later. His approach is analytical, practical and approachable. He explains things in plain language, compares more than just the interest rate, and keeps the process organized so you always know what comes next. Outside work, Jason enjoys golf, cars, photography and travel. He speaks English and Vietnamese.

Does it cost anything to work with a Team Active Mortgage broker?
For standard residential mortgages, brokers are typically paid by the lender when the mortgage funds, so there is usually no fee to you. Some files, such as private or certain alternative lending, can involve fees. Any fee is disclosed to you in writing before you commit.
What documents will I need?
Usually government-issued photo ID, proof of income (recent pay stubs and an employment letter, or two years of tax returns and Notices of Assessment if self-employed), proof of your down payment, and details of debts and assets. Your broker will confirm the exact list for your situation.
How does switching lenders at renewal work?
When your term ends you can move your remaining balance to a new lender instead of signing your current lender's renewal offer. You re-qualify with the new lender, and the switch is arranged to take effect at maturity. Start the conversation a few months before your renewal date.
