About Paul
Paul Henman is a mortgage broker with Team Active Mortgage who focuses on renewals. He has been a mortgage broker for about a year, and he brings more than two decades of experience in real estate leasing. Paul enjoyed leasing for over 20 years, but he felt he could help even more people make real estate ownership a reality. He serves clients across Nova Scotia and works virtually. His approach is hands-on. Paul treats each client as the most valuable person to him, because they are. He grew up in a more rural part of HRM and has lived in HRM most of his adult life, which taught him the value of relationships and hard work. Outside work, Paul loves playing music, travelling, and spending time with his partner, Karen, and her children and grandchildren. After visiting many Spanish-speaking countries and loving the culture, he's actively learning Spanish.

Frequently asked questions
Does it cost anything to work with a Team Active Mortgage broker?
For standard residential mortgages, brokers are typically paid by the lender when the mortgage funds, so there is usually no fee to you. Some files, such as private or certain alternative lending, can involve fees. Any fee is disclosed to you in writing before you commit.
What documents will I need?
Usually government-issued photo ID, proof of income (recent pay stubs and an employment letter, or two years of tax returns and Notices of Assessment if self-employed), proof of your down payment, and details of debts and assets. Your broker will confirm the exact list for your situation.
How does switching lenders at renewal work?
When your term ends you can move your remaining balance to a new lender instead of signing your current lender's renewal offer. You re-qualify with the new lender, and the switch is arranged to take effect at maturity. Start the conversation a few months before your renewal date.
